The forum was jointly hosted by the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) and the RIOS Laboratory, and co-organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering of the City University of Hong Kong and the RVOH Open Source International Laboratory. The theme of the seminar was "RISC-V and OpenHarmony Source Integration: Building the World's Third Pole Together".Professor Liu Zishun, Vice President of the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He stated that as an international university rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) has, since its inception, adhered to the philosophy of cultivating innovative talents, promoting technology implementation, and serving industrial development. The university is dedicated to exploring the scientific model of "Industry-Academia-Research-Application" and fostering composite talents with innovative and practical capabilities. He expressed his expectation that the forum would facilitate in-depth discussions on technological frontiers and industrial chains, truly achieving a resonance between technological innovation and talent cultivation. City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) will continue to deepen its exploration in the open-source field, actively build research and practice platforms, optimize courses and technologies, and link with industry partners to jointly promote the development of the open-source ecosystem.Cheng Xiaoming, Chairman of the OpenAtom Open Source Foundation, stated that the foundation focuses on the value of dual open source and supports universities, research institutions, and industry partners in deep cooperation regarding key technologies, standard setting, talent cultivation, and industrial applications. He noted that as a new highland of innovation emerging in the Greater Bay Area, the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) possesses international educational characteristics and a multidisciplinary integrated training system, demonstrating innovative vitality and strong development momentum. The Foundation will work with all parties to jointly promote a more prosperous technical ecosystem for open-source functions, deeper industrial synergy, and broader influence.At the main forum on "Dual Open Source Drives a New Global Digital Ecosystem," Chen Haibo, Chairman of the Technical Steering Committee of the OpenHarmony Project Community, delivered a report titled "the Technology, Talent, and Ecological Development of OpenHarmony". Liu Ming, Director of Ecosystem Operations at RISC-V International Open Source Laboratory (RIOS), provided an in-depth introduction to the progress of the international RISC-V ecosystem.The conference featured several forums, including "Industry Collaboration — RVOH Implementation Practices," "Academic Frontiers—Challenges and Breakthroughs in RVOH Technology," "Empowering Education—Bringing Open Source Technology into the Classroom" and a roundtable forum on "Open Source Talent Development Path". Frontline experts from higher education and the industry engaged in in-depth exchanges surrounding open-source topics.This seminar aims to promote the collaborative development of the open-source technology ecosystem, cultivate international innovative talents, and build a RISC-V × OpenHarmony industry-academia-research collaborative innovation hub. The meeting showcased the latest practices and applications of dual open source in scenarios such as education, industry, and intelligent terminals, strengthened school-enterprise cooperation and talent exchange, and explored new paths for international talent cultivation and scientific and technological innovation cooperation.
