Elsevier, a leading global information analytics business specialising in science and health, unveiled in March 2025 its list of Highly Cited Chinese Researchers from Chinese Mainland institutions for the year 2024. Among the esteemed academics recognised are three professors from City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) - Chair Professor Liu Zishun, Chair Professor Li Yi, and Professor Jian Linni.

This prestigious list draws on data from Scopus, the authoritative database of peer-reviewed literature, to systematically highlight the research contributions and innovative value of scholars from Chinese Mainland across various disciplines. The 2024 edition features 6,388 individuals from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, spanning 83 primary subjects across 10 academic fields.
